Minnesota?

Does anyone know where in MN the Mulherns started out? What about other branches? McCarty, O'Kane, Bohan... Once in Iowa did they always farm the same land or did they have other farms first? Have they always farmed or were there other professions? Dad just recently told me that Grandpa turned down college scholarships because he wanted to farm... How awesome is that! He was a man who knew what he wanted!

Thanks, Annie, for doing this! Are YOU in charge of the "Moderate Comments" control or are we just going to let the "blarney" flow? *wink* -Morgan

Deirdre, Sarah and Kathleen helped me set it up. But you may want to save your thanks until someone actually writes something on here.

I'm not planning to moderate comments. As long as posts are on family history, I think the blarney flow will be part of the je ne sais quoi of the blog. It is of the family.

According to something written by Joe Mulhern: The 1880 census of the State of Minnesota lists the following as inhabitants of Fountain Township in Fillmore County: Michael and Mary Mulhern and their children Laura, Winnie, Eugene and James. They left for Sheldon in 1887.
